Meet Dr. Plamondon
Dr. Caroline J. Plamondon has earned a reputation with patients, medical staff and fellow physicians alike for the results she achieves and for the holistic care of her patients. With advanced international training along with twenty years of experience, Dr. Plamondon utilizes the latest techniques and employs advanced technology to achieve beautiful, natural-looking outcomes for her patients. "My ultimate goals are to listen carefully to your hopes, to understand what you would like to achieve, and to tailor a surgery accordingly...". In addition to serving men and women from across Southern New England, Dr. Plamondon is very engaged in serving patients who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community and has been a speaker and lecturer at LGBTQ+ Pride events. She is an active member of WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health).
Dr. Plamondon is fluent in French and functional in Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her life partner John and their two rescued dogs. She practices yoga and meditation, is an avid reader and passionate about story-telling, rescues all animals in need, enjoys the outdoors (cycling, skiing, sailing) in addition to loving cooking and traveling.
Skills and Specialties
Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Plamondon is highly trained and experienced in performing a wide variety of procedures. Her top performed surgeries are breast surgeries (augmentation, lift, reconstruction including gender affirming top surgeries) and facial surgeries (lips, nose/chin surgeries including facial feminization surgery).
Education and Training
Dr. Plamondon earned her medical degree (MD) from the University of Montreal in Quebec, Canada with a residency in General Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, followed by an additional 6-months of fellowship specializing in Maxillofacial Surgery in Paris, France, as well as an additional year of fellowship specializing in Craniofacial Surgery at University of North Carolina affiliated hospitals. From there, she started and ran her own private practice for 20 years while being Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery in Plastic Surgery at Brown University School of Medicine from 1999 to 2008. She joined Southcoast Health in 2019.
